WISHING YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS

posted Dec 23, 2008

Just wanted to share a few of my favorite Christmas Decorations with you…….

Wood-carved Santa from Michigan’s own Whimsical Whittler

http://www.whimsicalwhittler.com

I love this Santa! He stands 36″ tall and is loaded with antiques.

I bought him many years ago (I think it was 1995) from a couple of sweet ladies

from Tenessee at the Market Square trade show in Pennsylvania. He is a treasure!

A couple of years ago my wonderful husband bought this

original Bethany Lowe Santa for me for Christmas! He is wonderfully

made….sitting in his sleigh with dolls, bears and trees.

From our family to yours….wishing you a Merry Christmas!

THE  BRIGHT SIDE OF WINTER!

Ryan & Daisy with “Mr. T. Ferguson”

After the wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday in which we had dinner for 24 at our house, we had a snow storm Sunday which meant an extra day off for they boys (and me)! We watched “Frosty the Snowman” & got inspired to make our own snow friend, Mr. T. Ferguson. Actually, my nephew, his wife and three little ones made him on Thanksgiving but he was falling apart a bit….plus Ryan wanted to make him taller. So we did some reconstructive “surgery”, put a hat & scarf on him, used coal for the eyes & buttons, a baby carrot for the nose & pecans for the mouth. My 15 year old, Kyle used his muscle to help us lift the mid-section onto the bottom ball, then he was off to make his very own snowman….so he could then tackle it & destroy it….all that energy! Then back inside for some hot chocolate & another movie. It was a great day!!

I left town on business for a couple of days afterwards, so that is why it has taken me so long to post the picture. Now we are on to Christmas. Just got our tree up yesterday. The rest of the decorations will go up here & there throughout the week when I get time. I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet!! Need to get busy………….
