Look at Boo Bear now!

Boo Bear’s progression

It just keeps gettin’ better. After working another 2 1/2 hours on Boo Bear here is where I’m at. At this rate I will

have him done in plenty of time for Halloween…..which is good because my next project is also for Halloween.

I will be trying something new……a punched tote bag!

One side will be a silhouette of a witch and the other side a black star!

“Boo Bear” punched rug

I just love this rug! The original painting was done for the Country Bears calendar (not sure for what year) and thought it would make

a great rug. I photographed the rug on the frame so you are looking at the back of the rug along with a color copy of the painting. In this picture I

have a total of 2 1/4 hours into it so far.  I will keep you posted on the progression.

 Green Bottle Fly Rocks

This is not the best picture ever, but I wanted to share with you what we did last Saturday. We traveled “up north” to Hale, Michigan for an outdoor “Hoedown” on Londo Lake. The folks that live on the lake have been getting together on this weekend for 33 years now. They enjoy a weekend of games, food, and fun. This year they invited Green Bottle Fly to perform and they rocked the night away (despite the two-day rain)! GBF is a classic rock band that plays mostly in the Flint, MI area. If you like classic rock, you will love these guys. They are all very talented…….notice the young guitar player……Barry is only 16 years old!

During the evening my husband, Kevin, sang “Born to be Wild” while our son, Kyle, played the drums.

It’s Finished!

Ol’ Saltbox Farm Punched Rug

I am so happy to have this rug finished! It took another 4 hours to finish punching & whip stitching the edges (see photo below & in archives for progression). The only thing I might do differently is go with a darker green for the roof & grass…..that way the words would stand out more. However, I still love this rug!

Now….what next? I am planning some new rug designs, so when I start another project, I will post the progression again.

 6 Hours Later….

OL’ SALTBOX FARM PUNCH RUG PROGRESSION

(this picture shows the back of the rug)

Look what you can accomplish in just six hours! In case you are just tuning in, I uploaded a picture of this rug about a week ago and wanted to show the progression of the rug so you can see how easy and fast you can punch a rug (to see last weeks photo, go to archives and click on August….then scroll down).  I have kept track of my time since last week and I have gotten so much done in only six hours! I am sure by next week I will have this rug finished (including the whip stitching!). As soon as I finish it, I will post the final picture of the rug on my floor so you can see how beautifully these rugs enhance your home. If you have any questions about rug punching, please feel free to contact me. This pattern is one of my designs and I sell the pattern on this website. If you love the pattern, but want to hook the rug instead of punching it, I offer it as a hooked rug pattern as well. The only difference between the two patterns is that when hooking a rug, you work from the front of the pattern and when punching a rug you work from the back (which is why the letters are backwards). Hope you enjoy watching the progression of this rug as much as I enjoy sharing it with you!
